ISSUE 16 ARCHIVE - LEICESTER SCUBA CLUB IN DIAMOND JUBILEE FLOTILLAMembers of the BSAC LeicesterUnderwater Exploration Club (LUEC) have taken part in a historic Thames flotilla as part of the official celebrations for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The LUEC divers were in their bright orange Rib boat, Vixen, and were part of a fleet of a thousand different vessels on the river.LUEC's place was secured by the club's diving officer, the appropriately named Adam Waters, who first heard about the event on the radio more than a year ago. He was determined that his club and BSAC should be represented in the flotilla, which took place on Sunday (June 3), he put the club's case forward and was overwhelmed to find out they would be included. |
