ISSUE 8 ARCHIVE - NON-CELEBRITY DIVER, JON CHAMBERLAIN
WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
Wivenhoe, Essex.
QUALIFICATION
PADI Rescue Diver.
DIVE CLUB
Essex University Sub Aqua Club.
|
 |
 |
TOTAL DIVES
66.
MAX DEPTH
35 metres.
MOST EXPENSIVE PIECE OF KIT
My trusty Canon G7 and housing.
COOLEST THING SEEN U/W
Without doubt, manta rays in the
Similan Islands. So much so I wanted
to get a tattoo.
|
NON-CELEB MOMENT
Being mistaken for George Clooney
(on many occasions).
WOULD NEVER DIVE
Stoney Cove in winter again.
BBS (BEST BACON SARNIE)
Glastonbury 2003 – It definitely wasn't
the best, but I enjoyed it the most.
BEST BUDDY
Sally – who's been on almost every
dive with me and still thinks I might be
dead when I'm lying motionless on the
sea floor waiting for a fish to come out
to play.
WORST BUDDY
A DM in Thailand who had the worst
buoyancy control I've ever seen and
spent the whole dive looking for the
disposable camera he lost on the way
down.
LIFE CHANGING BIZARRE DIVE MOMENT
Getting trapped in a washing machine
current, pinned upside down to a
reef wall in the Galapagos. Instead of
panic, I felt really calm, even as the
current swept my regs out behind me
and I had to grab my buddy's spare
as she floated past. It's always good to
learn to dive conservatively early on in
your dive career...
FAVOURITE UK DIVE LOCATION
Haven't found one yet.
FAVOURITE OVERSEAS DIVE LOCATION
Similan Islands off the west coast
of Thailand.

 |
STILL WANNA DIVE...
Without a tank.
AIR OR NITROX?
Air.
TANYA STREETER OR MIRANDA
KRESTOVNIKOFF?
Tanya.
MONTY HALLS OR NICK BAKER?
Monty.
ANYTHING ELSE?
I have an unhealthy interest in
nudibranchs. But don't hold it against
me (or wait for me to catch up with the
rest of the dive group).
