Underwater Television Watching World Record Attempt

ISSUE 7 ARCHIVE - UNDERWATER TELEVISION WATCHING WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT

On 1st April 2009, divers from Wet Wrecks Diving Club in Essex, along with divers from local BSAC, PADI, NAUI, SAA clubs and Essex FM DJ Martin Day attempted to watch the England versus Ukraine World Cup qualifier underwater.

TVs were placed behind viewing windows, commentary was piped in and scaffold seating was set up in the Action Underwater Film Studios. The attempt expects to raise over £8000 for the RNLI and Essex FM Kids charities, and the world record of 114 divers is expected to be recorded officially by Guinness later this year.
