Inishbofin – There is a wide variety of choices on this small island. The Galley B&B on the East side is perfectly located with one of the most beautiful beaches close by and views over to the mainland and the Connemara Mountains in the background – watch out for otters around the coastal rocks.

Food & Booze
Well this is Ireland, so a pub will already be in view. I have no particular recommendations as the best pubs often look the most unlikely. But local characters and live music can be found in many of the drinking establishments. Just be warned that if you're heading to Inishbofin, then the whole island is renowned for drinking until the early hours at the one and only pub on this island (Day's Bar).
Ocean Visions
Local produce and fresh fish are served up in many places. Oliver's bar in Cleggan is definitely a good spot, where you can watch the day's catch come in from the harbour at the same time as enjoying some of the freshest seafood on your plate.

Not In The Water
Galway has so much variety to offer, particularly those who love to get outdoors. The Connemara Mountains have some fantastic walking opportunities with the twelve Bens making some challenging hiking – but worthwhile for the spectacular views across the Galway coast or over the Inagh Valley onto the Maamturk Mountains.

Other activities in the area include: horse riding across the beaches; fishing in the lakes; golf; cruising up the nine mile Killary Fjord; visiting the islands off the Galway coast (it's like going back to prehistoric times over on the Aran Islands with the barren landscapes, monster cliffs dropping straight to the sea and iron age forts dotted around these limestone deserts).
